Neurology & Epilepsy Research

Continuous EEG via reusable dry-electrode systems, structured seizure event logging with investigator review, and neurology-specific patient diaries for decentralized trials.

Advancing Neurological Research with Continuous Monitoring

Neurological conditions are inherently episodic and unpredictable. Seizures, sleep disturbances, and movement fluctuations cannot be reliably captured during scheduled clinic visits. Vitruvian Shield enables continuous, real world neurological data collection through reusable dry-electrode EEG systems and structured investigator-review workflows purpose built for decentralized and hybrid trials.

Our platform is being applied in the PT-EPI-DCT-002 clinical study, a decentralized epilepsy trial collecting multi modal data, including electrodermal activity (EDA), accelerometry, and heart rate variability (HRV), to support structured seizure event logging and investigator review. Automated algorithmic seizure classification is on our regulatory roadmap and is not claimed as a current feature.

Neurology-Specific Capabilities

Structured Seizure Event Logging

Investigator-review workflows for seizure events reported by patients or flagged by multi modal sensor data (EDA, accelerometry, HRV). Every event is adjudicated by the clinical team before being counted, supporting rigorous endpoint capture in decentralized epilepsy research.

Continuous EEG Integration

Integration with reusable dry-electrode EEG systems designed for ambulatory and home-use studies, with long-term recording and cross-referencing between patient diaries and EEG data during investigator review.

Digital Biomarker Collection

Passive collection of neurological digital biomarkers including gait metrics, tremor quantification, and activity patterns through smartphone sensors and wearables.

Sleep Architecture & Circadian Patterns

Sleep staging and circadian pattern analysis from EEG and accelerometry data, enabling longitudinal sleep quality tracking for neurological research where sleep disruption is both a symptom and a therapeutic target.

Electronic Seizure Diaries

Patient-friendly seizure diary with customizable seizure type classification, trigger logging, medication tracking, and automatic prompts for timely reporting, purpose built for epilepsy and other neurological decentralized trials.

Study Spotlight: PT-EPI-DCT-002

Our decentralized epilepsy research study collects multi modal data (EDA, accelerometry, HRV) alongside EEG and patient diaries to support structured investigator review. The data also informs our regulatory roadmap toward future algorithmic seizure classification capabilities.
